NEPSE POSTS 8.18 POINTS GAIN

Following yesterday’s rebound, more buyers flooded in the market today attributing to 8.18 points incline in the Nepse index. The market index closed at 1034.39 level today.
After series of downfall in share price of listed companies, the investors are now in row to grab the scrips at corrected price.
“As most of the listed companies are publishing healthy fourth quarter reports, the investors are now accumulating shares of good companies at this level of correction in expectation of good returns from these companies,” says one of the brokers.
Most of the buying spree today also continued in banking shares as Banking sector increased by 9.08 points.
Big cap banking companies like Standard Chartered Bank Ltd. (SCB), Everest Bank Ltd (EBL) and Nabil Bank Ltd. (NABIL) led the banking sector with gain of Rs 101, Rs 100 and Rs 63 respectively.
Similarly, same buying sentiment was also observed in insurance scrips as the sub-group propelled by 91.11 points.
Life Insurance Co. Nepal (LICN), National Life Insu. Co. Ltd. (NLICL), Siddhartha Insurance Limited (SIL) and Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (NLIC) led the insurance sector with gain of Rs 280, Rs 50, Rs 48 and Rs 45 respectively.
As for remaining sub-indices, Hotels increased by 21.03 points, Finance inclined by Rs 1.46 points, Others climbed by 2.35 points.
While, Hydro dropped by 13.03 points and Development decreased by 13.03 points.
All in all, the scrips of 146 companies were traded, out of which 57 scrips gained, 24 remained intact and 64 scrips lost.
Siddhartha Finance Limited (SFL), closed at Rs 184, was the best performer today with gain of Rs 16 or 9.52 percent. Whereas, Araniko Development Bank Limited (ARDBL), closed at Rs 190, was the worst performer today with Rs 21 or 9.95 percent loss.
Nepal Credit And Com. Bank (NCCB), closed at Rs 700, had the highest turnover among the traded shares. Altogether, 80,100 units share of NCCB were traded through 53 transactions worth Rs 53,960,009.
The broker with the highest standalone dealing of the NCCB was Broker No 56 (Sri Hari Securities Pvt. Ltd.) with 73.87 percent totaling 118,816 share units amounting Rs 79,725,016 via 26 transactions, which include five matching transactions tallying 48,457 units worth Rs 1,943,510.
The market turnover today stood at Rs 395,736,274, with total number of shares traded at 689,735 units which were traded through 2,897 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 1,056,126.89 Millions.
