Nepse plunges 12.11 points‚ transaction looks up

The share market continued its poor performance, though the transaction amount has increased.

During the last week, Nepse plunged by 12.11 points to 329.63 points on the closing day from the opening of 341.74 points, but the transaction amount has increased by 81.38 per cent compared to a week ago.

The market witnessed transaction worth Rs 83.19 million in the past week from the trading of 4,043 of 110 companies.

However, all the sub groups ended in the red zone except manufacturing.

Similarly, the sensetive index also dropped by 2.60 points to 81.21 points from the Sunday morning’s opening of 83.81 points.

Bank of Kathmandu (Rs 50.04 million), Standard Chartered Bank Nepal (Rs 8.31 million), NIC Bank (Rs 6.55 million), Nabil Bank (Rs 5.68 million) and Fewa Finance (Rs 4.52 million) topped the chart in terms of transaction amount.

Interms of share units traded Bank of Kathmandu (90,017 units) topped the chart and in terms of number of trading, Bishwa Bikas Bank (385 transactions) topped the chart.

Last week, NMB Bank listed its 3.48 million units of rights shares, whereas four finance companies also listed their rights shares.

Similarly, Salt Trading also listed its 66,091 units of bonus share flooding the secondary market at the time, when the demand has been dropping.

Though the secondary market has not witnessed any trading of bond till date. Development bond worth Rs 5000 million worth has also been listed in the market.
