NEPSE PLUNGE BY 2.36 POINTS

The selling pressure in the market forced the market to plunge by 2.36 points to close at 491.01 levels. As the quarter end is coming nearer and nearer, the investors are liquidating their shares to meet the debt obligation towards the financial institutions, creating an immense selling pressure in the market. This kind of trend mostly occurs till the midway of the any given prior month before the quarter end.
In spite of the selling pressure, the huge turnover worth Rs 88,172,899 still indicates that there are presences of buyers in the market .In this kind of scenario; most experienced investors tend to grab the opportunity by buying the shares in the lower level from the investors those who panic at this stage. The number of shares traded today rose to stand at 340,750 units via 1114 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day tallied at 486,495.72 Millions
Today, apart from Hydro and Manufacturing sub-indices, all other sectors settled in the red zone; Manufacturing remained intact at 877.49 levels today while Insurance made surge of 0.95 points. Whereas Insurance made a hefty loss of 9.9 points followed by Others with a 3.52 point decrease. Similarly, Banking tumbled by 2.62, Development plummeted by 1.25 points and Finance declined by 1.31 points. Likewise, Hotels made a downhill of 0.18 points.
Overall there were trades of 91 scrips among which 20 scrips increased 16 remained intact and 55 scrips decreased. The best performer for the day was, Guras Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (GLICL), closed at Rs 159, with Rs 9 or 6.00% gain. Whereas, Karnali Development Bank Limited (KRBL), closed at Rs 55, was the worst performer with Rs 6 or 9.84% loss. Among shares trading above par, Shikhar Insurance Co. Ltd. (SICL), closed at Rs 356, was the top loser with Rs 28 or 7.29% loss.
In case of the highest shares traded among mutual fund, Nabil Balance Fund 1 (NBF1), closed at Rs 10.15, topped with 45,705 units. In case of ordinary scrips, Bank of Kathmandu (BOK), closed at Rs 556, topped with 13,427 units.
In terms of turnover, Everest Bank Ltd (EBL), closed at Rs 1524, topped with 8,514 units worth Rs 12,983,405 via 31 transactions. The broker with the highest stand alone dealing of EBL was Broker No 56 (Sri Hari Securities Pvt. Ltd.) with 59.66%; amounting Rs. 15,494,000 via 4 transactions of 10160 units which includes 1 matching transaction of 5,000 units worth Rs 7,625,000.
