NEPSE PLUNGE BY 1.04 POINTS

Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) today also continued to plunge as the benchmark index dropped by 1.04 points . From the initial period of trading today, the local bourse followed the bearish path as the selling pressure in the scrips pressured to do so. However, after making a double bottom around the 509 level, the market index gradually inclined to narrow the loss and close at 510.88 levels.
There altogether were trade of eight sub-indices; Trading and Insurance were the only sectors which gained than the prior day. The increment in the price of Bishal Bazaar Co. Ltd. (BBCL) by Rs 35 uplifted the Trading sector by 2.96 points. Similarly, soar in the value of National LifeInsu. Co. Ltd. (NLICL), Surya Life Insurance Company Limited (SLICL) and Lumbini General Insurance (LGIL) boosted the Insurance sector up by 1.15 points.
Whereas, plummeted in the level of Standard Chartered Bank Ltd. (SCB), Everest Bank Ltd (EBL), NMB Bank Ltd. (NMB), Agricultural Development Bank Ltd (ADBL), Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd. (NBB), Bank of Kathmandu (BOK), Nabil Bank Ltd. (NABIL) along with 9 another scrips dragged the Banking sector down by 1.02 points. Likewise, Development and Finance sector tumbled by 0.3 and 0.46 points.
While, fall in the value of Oriental Hotel Ltd. (OHL) and Soaltee Hotel Ltd. (SHL) pushed the Hotels sector further south by 7.19 points. Likewise, decrease in the price of Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited (AHPC) and Chilime Hydropower Co. Ltd. by Rs 3 and Rs 9 respectively pulled down the Hydro sector by 5.8 points. As for Others sector, it made descent of 1.18 points following the drop in Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited.
Overall there were only 95 scrips traded among which 25 scrips increased, 20 remain intact and 50 scrips decreased. The highest gainer for the day was, Unique Finance Limited (UFIL), closed at Rs 89, with Rs 8 or 9.88% gain. Whereas, Infrastructure Development Bank Limited (IDBL), closed at Rs 72, was the highest loser with Rs 3 or 4%. Among the shares trading above par value, Surya Life Insurance Company Limited (SLICL), closed at Rs 163, topped with Rs 5 or 3.16%. While, Gandaki Bikas Bank Limited (GBBL), closed at Rs 154, descended by Rs 6 or 3.75%.
In case of highest traded shares, Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd. (NBB), closed at Rs 232, topped with 14,590 units. In terms of turnover, Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL) , closed at Rs 1065, topped with 13,248 units worth Rs 13,971,490 via 31 transactions; in which Broker no 6 (Agrawal Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active Broker with 78.42% stand alone dealing of CHCL, tallying, 10,418 units worth Rs 10,956,190 via 10 transactions which includes 5 matching transactions totaling 9,826 units worth Rs 10,324,300.
Altogether today 186,975 shares were traded via 1,094 transactions worth Rs 74,569,451 and the market capitalization at the end of the day stood at 492,089.00 Millions.
