NEPSE PLUNGE 0.96 POINTS

The market index today also continued with its dismal performance as the local bourse suffered a loss of 0.96 points to close at 497.39 levels .The delay in announcing the election date by the government, has shed the investors’ confidence towards the better future of the capital market. In current scenario, the investors seem to be bit hesitant to enter into the market, resulting in a discouraging movement in the market.
Most of the sub-indices today also witness loss; Insurance suffered the highest plunge worth 8.74 points. Similarly, Banking and Hotels plummeted by 1.03 and 1.69 points respectively. Likewise, Development and Hydro tumbled by 0.83 and 0.61 points respectively. While, Finance was able to make a meager gain of 0.24 points. As for Others, it remained intact at 628.57 levels.
Overall there were trades of 82 scrips among which 27 scrips increased 17 remained intact and 38 scrips decreased. The best performer for the day was, Pathibhara Bikas Bank Limited (PBSL), closed at Rs 93, with Rs 3 or 3.33% gain. Whereas, NB Insurance Co. Ltd. (NBIL), closed at Rs 94, was the worst performer with Rs 10 or 9.62% loss. Among the share trading above par, Sanima Bank Ltd. (Sanima), closed at Rs 250, was the top gainer with Rs 5 or 2.04% whereas, Sagarmatha Insurance Co. Ltd (SIC), closed at Rs 1060, was the top loser with Rs 100 or 8.62%.
In case of the highest shares traded among mutual fund, Nabil Balance Fund 1 (NBF1) , closed at Rs 10.43, topped with 12,545 units. In case of ordinary scrips, Commerz and Trust Bank Nepal Ltd. (CNTBL), closed at Rs 144, topped with 24,765 units.
In terms of turnover, Sagarmatha Insurance Co. Ltd (SIC), closed at Rs 1060, topped with 19,433 units worth Rs 20,569,147 via 30 transactions. The most active Broker with the highest stand-alone dealing of SIC was Broker no 32 (Premier Securities Company Limited) with 92.56%, tallying 36,218 units worth Rs 38,078,010 via 14 transactions which includes 3 matching transactions totaling 17,844 units worth Rs 18,744,530.
Altogether there were trade of 190,755 units of share via 884 transactions worth Rs 64,245,297; the market capitalization at the day stood at Rs 492,813.85 Millions.
