NEPSE Plummets 0.58%: Index Closed Lowest in Last Six Month While Market Cap Stood at Rs. 2.84 Trillion

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index closed at 1,847.70 points, as the index experienced a loss of 10.86 points, or 0.58% compared to the previous day's closing. The index witnessed a minor loss of 5.83 points on the last trading day.
The market's recent performance indicates a significant downturn, marking its lowest closure in the last half-year period. Notably, the market's closure dipped below 1,847.70 points, a level not witnessed since May 17 when it concluded at 1,845.01 points. Additionally, a substantial decrease of approximately 380 points has been observed since the announcement of the Monetary Policy which was on 23rd July, 2023 this year.
The trading started with the index opening at 1858.27 hitting an intraday low of 1,842.73, whereas the intraday high was 1,859.48.
During today's trading, there were 281 different stocks traded in 45,763 transactions. The volume of shares traded amounted to 3,749,954 units with a total turnover of Rs. 96.44 Crore. Market capitalization stood at Rs. 28.46 Kharba, with a float market capitalization of Rs. 9.97 Kharba.
Asha Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd Promoter Share (ALBSLP) had the highest turnover, reaching Rs. 10.10 crores, and closed at a market price of Rs. 0.
Similarly, Chandragiri Hills Limited (CGH) showed the highest gain of 6.04% today.
On the flip side, Sayapatri Hydropower Limited (SPHL) lost the highest 10.00% today.
In terms of sector indices, indices except "Hotels And Tourism Index" and "Manufacturing And Processing" all other indices closed red. "Hotels And Tourism Index" gained the highest 4.27% while "Mutual Fund" recorded the most significant loss of 4.63% for the day.
