NEPSE Open First Trading Day After Dashain With 1.48% Loss; SONA Hits Negative Circuit

In today's trading session, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index closed at 1,875.65 points, as the index experienced a loss of 28.18 points, or 1.48% compared to the previous day's closing. The index witnessed a loss of 4.05 points on the last trading day as well.

The trading started with the index opening at 1903.59 hitting an intraday low of 1,867.09, whereas the intraday high was 1,903.91.

During today's trading, there were 283 different stocks traded in 34,090 transactions. The volume of shares traded amounted to 2,712,123 units with a total turnover of Rs. 74.29 Crore. Market capitalization stood at Rs. 28.79 Kharba, with a float market capitalization of Rs. 10.10 Kharba.

National Hydro Power Company Limited (NHPC) had the highest turnover, reaching Rs. 4.08 crores, and closed at a market price of Rs. 129.00.

Similarly, Upper Solu Hydro Electric Company Limited (USHEC) showed the highest gain of 8.99% today.

On the flip side, Sonapur Minerals And Oil Limited (SONA) lost the highest 10% hitting the negative circuit today on its first day of trading.


In terms of sector indices, all the sectors closed red with Trading Index recorded the highest loss of 2.68% negative change.
