ShareSansar, 23rd Sept:

Extending further its loss, Nepal Stock Market plunged by an additional 3.2 points today. With today’s drop, the market index has come to settle at one month lowest level of 538.31.

Citing yesterday’s tumble of more than seven points, the investors’ sentiment got further dampened today attributing to more liquidation of position in the market.

Mostly, the scrips of Banking, Insurance and Hydro were offloaded today, dragging the overall sentiment of the market in the process. Banking came to suffer a loss of 3.12 points whereas Insurance and Hydro experienced two digit drops of 20.69 and 10.19 points respectively.

Likewise, Manufacturing also declined by two digit figure of 10.38 points. While, Development, Finance and Others decreased by 1.15, 0.67 and 2.35 points respectively.

Only, Hotels was able to make a climb of 16.07 points today.

Likewise, the IPOs of Kalika Micro Credit Development Bank and Sanima Mai Hydropower Limited have also diverted the investors from secondary to primary market, fading the presence of buyers in the process. Lack of buyers today further downsized the market turnover from yesterday’s figure of Rs 114,008,016 to Rs 99,322,458, which is a 12.88 percent fall.

Altogether 340,773 units of shares were traded through 1,644 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 540,586.10 million.

All in all, 96 scrips were traded, out of which 26 scrips gained, 11 remained intact and 59 scrips lost.

The share with the highest gain in today’s session was, Soaltee Hotel Ltd. (SHL), closed at Rs 295, with Rs 15 or 5.36 percent growth. Whereas, Oriental Hotel Ltd.  (OHL), closed at Rs 203, was the worst performer for the day with a loss of Rs 22 or 9.78 percent.

As for NLG Insurance Company Ltd., closed at Rs 461, dropped by Rs 14 or 2.95 percent as the company’s proposal to distribute 10 percent bonus shares and 11.05 percent cash dividend after the approval from Beema Samiti and its upcoming AGM failed to create any positive charm for the scrip today.
