NEPSE nears 450 points

After a more than a week of Dashain Holiday, Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) still continued its rally movement. Though the turnover of the market index was below than the daily average, the local bourse kept on adding points today. Till the end of the day, the benchmark index was up by 11.13 points to close at 447.83 levels. As the market is in a bullish trend, the forecast of better first quarterly reports of the financial institutions have made the secondary market very attractive. Along with that the much awaited mutual fund schemes will soon be launched in the market which also has helped to revive the investors’ sentiment up.
With the publication of first quarter reports from some of the commercial banks and anticipation of even better quarter reports from other commercial banks (since the interest spread is high), the investors’ today heavily bought the Banking scrips boosting the sector up by a hefty 14.81 points. Similarly in the case of Development and Finance also the sectors leaped up by 1.26 and 0.28 points respectively.
Other than Banking sectors, Hydro and Other sector also made a huge surge by 14.58 points and 14.09 points respectively. The climb in the Butwal Power Co. Ltd. (BPCL) and Chilime Hydro Power Co. (CHCL) by Rs 10 and Rs 20 helped the Hydro sector in its growth. Whereas the jump in the price of Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) by Rs 12 supported in Other sector incline.
As for Insurance, the increase in the price level of Life Insurance Co. Nepal (LICN) and Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (NLIC) by Rs 28 and Rs 25 mainly aided in the sector’s incline of 7.72 points.
Among other news, Prabhu Finance Co. Ltd. ‘s (PRFL) BOD has decided the book closure date from 2069/07/15 till 2069/07/27 for its upcoming AGM. Similarly, the transaction of Purwanchal Garmeen Bikash Bank Ltd. (PGBL) was resumed in Nepse from today after receiving renewal fee.
Overall there were 78 scrips traded among which 53 scrips increased, 7 remain intact and 18 scrips decreased. The highest gainer for the day was Nepal SBI Bank Limited (SBI), closed at Rs 562, with Rs 59 or 9.98%. Whereas, City Development Bank Limted (CDBL), closed at Rs 150, with Rs 34 or 7.98% loss was the Top Loser of the day. In terms of highest share traded, KIST Bank Limited (KIST) , closed at Rs 126, topped with 31,530 units.
In case of turnover, Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited (AHPC), closed at Rs 332, topped with 26,759 units worth Rs 8,588,064 via 20 transactions; in which Broker no 32 (Premier Securities Company Limited) was the most active broker with 99% stand alone dealing of EBL, totaling 26,520 units worth Rs 8,505,720 via 10 transactions.
The total turnover today was 39,531,912 which is comparatively Rs 9,555,848 or 19.47% lower than prior trading session. Overall 160,181 units of shares were traded via 833 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 424,073.86 Millions.
