NEPSE MOVES SIDEWAYS

Following the steady pace of yesterday, the market found itself dangling in sideways today.

The adequate presence of both buyers and sellers kept the market ticking between the level of 541.5 and 543.5 for the entire session but at the end was able to surpass the yesterday’s closing to make a gain of 0.28 points.

The Nepse index today came to close at 542.63 levels.

Among, sub-indices, Insurance today also made a giant leap of 8.36 points whereas, Others, Development, Hydro and Finance followed with a meager incline of 1.17, 1.33, 0.6 and 0.01 points respectively.

While, Banking dropped by 0.46 points alongside 1.63 point decline of Hotels.

In other news, Unilever Nepal Ltd has proposed to distribute Rs 760 dividend per share from the earnings of FY 2069/70 after the approval of the 20th AGM of the company, scheduled on 4th October 2013. The scrip last traded price stands at Rs 9,900.

All in all, the scrips of 96 companies were traded, out of which 46 scrips gained, 8 remained intact and 42 scrips lost.

The best performers for the day was, Swabalamwan Bikash Bank (SWBBL), closed at Rs 402, with Rs 36 or 9.84% gain.

Whereas, Metro Development Bank Limited (METRO), closed at Rs 131, was the top loser with Rs 9 or 6.43% loss.

In case of the highest shares traded among mutual fund, Nabil Balance Fund 1 (NBF1), closed at Rs 10.03, topped with 23,993 units. In case of ordinary scrips, Prime Life Insurance Company Limited (PLIC), closed at Rs 301, topped with 59,674 units.

In terms of turnover also, Prime Life Insurance Company Limited (PLIC) topped with turnover worth Rs 17,641,690 via 70 transactions. The broker with the highest standalone dealing of the PLIC was Broker No 33 (Dachinkali Investment Securities Pvt. Ltd) with 34.70%; amounting Rs 12,243,000 via 20 transactions totaling  41,500 units which includes 5 matching transactions tallying  7500 units worth Rs 2,232,500

Overall, 405,764 units of share were traded by 1,843 transactions worth Rs 141,760,644; the market capitalization by the end of the day tallied to Rs 540,567.09 million.
