NEPSE MOVES FURTHER IN GREEN TERRAIN

Following the yesterday’s incline, today also market climbed up by 3.94 points to close at 496.92 levels. In spite of a drop in the level of the benchmark index in the start of the trade, the improvement in the sectors pushed the local bourse later in the green terrain. Though, the market was moving in the one point range for the most part of the trade, it was only in the last minutes that the market index rallied up more than 2 points.
Apart from the decline in the Hotels sector by 7.75 points, the remaining sub-indices today also performed well than yesterday. The highest incline was in the Hydro sector as it increased by 20.19 points; the contribution in the growth was mainly from the scrip of Butwal Power Co. Ltd. (BPCL) as it jumped by Rs 60 today. Similarly, the surge in the price of Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) by Rs 5 today also boosted the Others sector by 5.88 points.
Likewise, Banking, Development and Finance all three Banking and Financial Institutions sub-indices added 4.26, 0.07 and 0.66 points respectively. In Banking, Everest Bank Limited Convertible Preference (EBLCP), Standard Chartered Bank Ltd. (SCB), Everest Bank Ltd (EBL), Nepal Investment Bank Ltd. (NIB ) and Nabil Bank Ltd. (NABIL) were the scrips which rose by more than Rs 10.
Whereas, the amendment in the price level of Himalayan Bank Ltd. (HBL) by Nepse to adjust the proposed 15% bonus share declared by the company resulted in the drop by Rs 83 in the company’s price today. In the same manner, the price adjustment of 50% bonus share declaration of Janaki Finance Ltd. (JFL) also let in its price drop by Rs 124; among the shares traded today, the JFL had the highest decline making it the top loser of the day.
As for Insurance and Manufacture sectors, both inclined by 6.49 and 1.43 points respectively. The growth in Insurance sector was mainly because of the rise in the price level of Life Insurance Co. Nepal (LICN) and Sagarmatha Insurance Co. Ltd (SIL). As today was the last day before the book closure date of Life Insurance Co. Nepal (LICN), the scrip had high demand among the investors today letting to incline in its price by Rs 35.
Overall there were 87 scrips traded among which 44 scrips increased, 12 remain intact and 31 scrips decreased. The highest gainer for the day was Nirdhan Utthan Bank Ltd. (NUBL), closed at Rs 207, with Rs 18 or 9.52% gain. In case of highest share traded, Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd. (NBB), closed at Rs 249, topped with 34,480 units.
In terms of highest turnover, Nepal Investment Bank Ltd. (NIB), closed at Rs 860, topped with 13,694 units worth Rs 11,689,729 via 71 transactions; in which Broker No 35 (Kohinoor Investment and Securities Pvt. Ltd) was the most active broker with 25.28% stand alone dealing of NIB, tallying 3,459 units worth Rs 2,955,668 via 5 transactions which includes one matching transactions of 2,009 units worth Rs 1,711,668.
The total turnover today was Rs 70,145,420 which is comparatively Rs 7,898,096 or 10.12% lower than prior trading session. Overall 208,192 units of shares were traded via 889 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 471,521.04 Millions.
