Nepse mitigates its loss, turnover rises to Rs 30 crore

The benchmark index of Nepal Stock Exchange Limited lost 1.64 points today, to close at 881.87 levels. It was a marked improvement considering 16.38 point the market lost yesterday to close at 883.51 levels.
Though six out the seven sub-indices had suffered yesterday and only the Other group had ended in the green zone, the Hotels and the Hydropower groups gained today while the loss of the Banking group, which covers around 80 percent of the market cap, was also not that significant. The Banking sub-index today closed at 780.86 level, shedding just 3.51 points.
Though the market dropped to 877 levels in the first couple of hours of trading, it started to rebound in the last trading hour, hinting that the market may continue to rise tomorrow.
Other losers today are the Development Bank group, which shed 6.51 points, Finance 6.07 points, Insurance 32.33 points and the Other group that lost 4.7 points.
On the other hand, the Hotel sub-index gained 8.1 points and Hydropower sub-index posted an impressive gain of 106.65 points.
Insofar as the market turnover is concerned, the total turnover of Rs 30.07 crore today is much higher than the turnover yesterday, which stood at just Rs 28.34 crore.
