NEPSE MAKES MEAGER GAIN ON ITS FIRST TRADING OF 2071 B.S.

Marking its first trading day for the year 2071 B.S., the benchmark index made a scanty gain of 0.93 points. With the gain, the local bourse came to settle at 818.58 level.
Though the market index for several times tried to breach 820 level, the tumble in the Others sector’s scrips turnout to be the dragging factor for Nepse. With hefty downfall of 10.57 points in Others sector, which is one of the influential sector in market movement, the Nepse index experienced a difficulty in sustaining on green pasture.
However, it was the insurance sector that proved to be the anchor for sustaining the local bourse on the positive zone at the end of the session. The insurance sector today propelled by double digit figure of 26.57 points.
In addition, Hotels also contributed with a gain of 50.92 points alongside it, Banking, Development and also attributed as both increased by 0.46 point, 2.58 points and 0.5 points respectively. As for Hydro, it suffered a loss of 0.06 point.
Altogether there were trade of 123 scrips, among which 62 scrips gained, 21 scrips remained intact and 40 scrips suffered loss.
The best performer among the traded shares was Sahayogi Vikas Bank (SBBLJ), closed Rs 460, with a gain of Rs 41 or 9.79 percent. Whereas, National Hydro Power Co. (NHPC), closed at Rs 137, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 8 or 5.52 percent.
Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL), which closed at Rs 1943, had the highest turnover among the traded scrips today. Overall, 16,059 units of CHCL were traded through 160 transactions worth Rs 31,204,305.
The Broker with the highest transaction of CHCL was Broker No 14 (Nepal Stock House Pvt. Limited) with 11.73 percent standalone dealing, totaling 3,775 units worth Rs 7,317,439 via 18 transactions, which includes one matching transaction tallying 1,250 units worth Rs 2,418,750.
The market turnover today stood at Rs 257,549,813, with total number of shares traded at 572,411 units which were traded through 1,975 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 834,215.59 Millions.
