NEPSE MAKES LATER GAIN TO FLOAT ON GREEN

Another rollercoaster transition prevailed in the market today as Nepse index bounced back from double digit loss to post meager gain of 0.03 point. Following the recovery the benchmark index closed at 910.65 level.
“With the market showing its volatile side in recent days, most of the investors are becoming cautious to make any position at this point of time,” says one of the brokers. He further adds, “in addition to mentioned scenario, the nearing of festive season has also diluted the participation in the market.”
The market turnover today stood at Rs 324 million down from Rs 460 million of yesterday.
However, the technical glitch in the Nepse’s system also attributed to problem in brokers’ terminal functionality, leading to 20 minutes additional trading time today. The market today came to close at 3:20 pm compared to regular closing time of 3:00 pm.
As for the sub-indices, most of them landed on red zone. Insurance led the down fallers with loss of 27.41 points followed by Manufacturing with 13.18 points decline. Similarly, Hotels, Hydro, Finance and Trading also shed 6.63 points, 5.61 points, 1.43 points and 1.61 points respectively.
While Banking sub-index, which at one point also suffered double digit fall, came to regain in latter hour to post gain of 2.17 points. Development and Others were other sub-groups to post 0.92 point and 1.17 points growth respectively.
