NEPSE MAKES COMEBACK

Finally after days of downfall, the secondary market of Nepal today bounced back by 8.5 points to close at 490.43 levels. The market was in continuous fall since 25th April, 2013 till yesterday with a total loss of 27.15 points; the surge made by the local bourse today was the highest after 25.73 points of 17th February, 2013.The assurance from SEBON on Monday regarding not letting the market overflow with shares from the new provision of offloading promoter shares, mainly created a favorable environment in the market today.
Among the sub-indices, Banking made a surge of 12.56 points whereas Development gained 0.51 points and Finance soar by 0.68 points. Likewise, Hydro also made a hefty jump of 12.82 points. Similarly, Insurance inclined 0.35 points and Others ascent by 5.87 points. As for Hotels, it plunge by 2.27 points.
Overall there were only 78 scrips traded among which 50 scrips increased 7 remained intact and 21 scrips decreased. The highest gainer for the day was, Siddhartha Bank Limited (SBL), closed at Rs 299, with Rs 27 or 9.93% gain. Whereas, Alliance Insurance Company Limited (AIC), closed at Rs 131, was the highest loser with Rs 15 or 10.27% loss; the scrip also had the highest traded scrip among ordinary scrips with 37,358 units.
In case of turnover, Nepal Bank Limited (NBL), closed at Rs 530, topped with 29,919 units worth Rs 15,680,317 via 244 transactions; in which Broker no 17 (ABC Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active Broker with 34.60% stand alone dealing of NBL, tallying 9,720 units worth Rs 5,424,997 via 71 transactions which includes 6 matching transactions totaling 491 units worth Rs 265,321.
Altogether there were trade of 841,984 units of share via 1,316 transactions worth Rs 108,030,983; the market capitalization at the day stood at Rs 475,771.88 Millions.
