NEPSE Makes All-Time High at 2,856.67 with Second-Highest Turnover in Capital Market History

The NEPSE index gained a significant 29.55 points today and closed at 2,856.67. This is the highest closing in the entire history of NEPSE. The index opened at 2,843.83 and did not trade at anything lower than that. While it went as high as 2,874.77, it went down to 2,856.67 by the time the market closed today, which is still the all-time high closing in NEPSE's history. The previous all-time high record was broken this Sunday when the index had closed at 2,827.93.

34,691,312 shares traded hands via 155,655 transactions. The trading of 218 scrips brought the total market turnover to a little over Rs. 16.9 Arba. Nepal's capital market had created the highest intraday turnover recorded in the history of NEPSE of Rs. 17.028 Arba earlier this week. Thus, this is the second-highest turnover ever.

While the float index gained 2.76 points and closed at 197.23, the Sensitive index is at 513.11 after gaining 7.96 points.

Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited (NRIC) has the highest individual scrip turnover of a little over Rs. 1.02 Arba.

Manjushree Finance Limited (MFIL) and Mahila Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (MLBSL) have closed at the upper limit of 10% intraday gain today.

On the other side of things, Panchakanya Mai Hydropower Limited (PMHPL) lost the most 5.92%.

Four sectors lost today and all others closed green. Hydropower lost the most 2.04% and Development Banks gained the most 3.74%.
