Nepse lost 1.59 points
Sharesansar, 2nd July: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) after opening was in all bearish as the benchmark index couldn’t gain upward momentum from the start. In overall session, Nepse traded between the range of 374.5 to 372 points which is below the closing level of yesterday. The closing level of Nepse for today was 372.92 points which is 1.59 or 0.43% below compare to previous day’s closing level.
In today’s trading session, Subha Laxmi Finance Co. Ltd, which closed at Rs 95, was the Top Gainer with Rs 8 or 9.2%. Whereas Asian Life Insurance Co Ltd, which settled at Rs 156, was the Top Loser with Rs 46 or 22.77%. Likewise, National Hydro Power Co., whose indecisive BOD election during AGM resulted in Rs 6 or 10% loss today, topped the category of highest shares traded by means of 64,750 units. On the other hand, Everest Bank Limited (EBL) remained top in terms of highest turnover with 15,297 shares worth Rs 14,287,788 via 124 transactions; in which Broker No 20 (Sipla Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active broker with 71.87% stand alone dealing of EBL, amounting Rs 10,268,758 of 11,014 units via 91 transactions.
Sectoral wise, Other sectors which suffered loss yesterday added 2.35 or 0.43% points to settle at 554.57 level. Similarly, other gainers for today were Hotels with 1.36 or 0.28% and Finance with 0.14 or 0.05% points. On the other side, Hydro sector suffered the highest loss of 7.71 or 1.24% points followed by Banking, Development, and Insurance with 0.81%, 0.48% and 0.03% respectively. Likewise, Sensitive index plummeted by 0.23 or 0.24% to settle at 95.86 points while Float index also loss 0.203 or 0.68% point to close at 29.51 points.
Total scrips traded for the day was 83 with 24 gainers and 43 losers with total turnover of Rs 48,475,423 which is comparatively Rs 2,773,137 or 6.07% higher than prior trading session. Overall 198,879 units of shares were traded via 1155 transactions with total market capitalization of Rs. 352,206.47 millions.
