Nepse lost 0.16% to settle at 383.48

Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) today also took a plunge as the benchmark index traded in the red for the entire session. Despite the increase in turnover amount by double as compare to yesterday, the political parties inability to come into consensus regarding full fledged budget for the upcoming fiscal year has adversely affected the Nepse level. With the news of bringing only one third of the budget by the government, the investors’ sentiment seems to have gone downhill as the local bourse lost 0.6 point to close at 383.48 level.
In today’s session Kumari Bank Limited Promoter Share (KBLPO), closed at Rs 149, was the Top Gainer with Rs 14 or 10.37%. Similarly, National Hydro Power Co (NHPC) which had the highest share traded of 67,100 units, settled at Rs 50, was the Top Loser with Rs 5 or 9.09%. Likewise, Tinau Development Bank Limited (TNBL), closed at Rs 103, topped the category of highest transaction by means of 98 transactions. All in all, Everest Bank Limited (EBL) had the highest turnover of 59,280 shares worth Rs 57,939,514 via 49 transactions; in which Broker No 17 (ABC Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active broker with 68.57% stand alone dealing of EBL, amounting Rs 39,726,577 of 40,628 units via 11 transactions which includes matching of 40,268 units worth Rs 39,372,657 via 4 transactions.
Sectoral wise, Development sector climbed the highest with 1.49 or 0.61% points followed by Insurance and Finance with 0.89 or 0.18% and 0.19 or 0.07% point respectively. On the other hand, Banking sector, which weighs the highest in secondary market, declined by 0.39% followed by Hotels and Hydro by 0.08% point respectively. On the contrary, Others sector remain intact at 575.71 level. Sensitive index plummeted by 0.22 or 0.22% points to settle at 98.6 points.
Total scrips traded for the day was 85 with 29 gainers and 44 losers with total turnover of Rs 130,631,082 which is astoundingly Rs 86,379,032 or 195.19% higher than prior trading session. Overall 267,453 units of shares were traded via 1,079 transactions.
