NEPSE Loses in Double Digits Again, Index Closes at 2,690.29 After All Sectors Bleed Red

The NEPSE index closed at 2,690.29 today after losing 59.57 points from last Tuesday's closing. The index had lost 79.79 points that day.

The index opened at 2,750.02 and did not trade anywhere higher than that. While it went as low as 2,687.83, it ultimately closed at 2,690.29.

A total of 9,475,936 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 5.119 Arba in the turnover amount. This is lower than last Tuesday's turnover of Rs. 6.527 Arba. 225 scrips traded hands via 73,328 transactions.

Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank Limited (MLBL) had the highest turnover of Rs. 47.49 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 714.50 per share. Its shares also traded the most.

A total of two scrips have technically gained 10%, thereby hitting the positive circuit breaker. Meanwhile, Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank Limited (MLBL) and ICFC Finance Limited (ICFC) lost the most 10%, thereby hitting the negative circuit breaker.

All sectors have closed red today. "Finance" lost the most 4.22%.
