NEPSE Loses Bullish Steam; Nepal Loses its Parliament

The NEPSE index lost 96.88 points and closed at 1,935.63 today. This is most probably a reaction to chances of political instability in the country in the days to come. Just this morning, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had recommended the dissolution of the Federal Parliament during the emergency Cabinet meeting on Sunday morning. The meeting which was held at the Prime Minister's Official Residence in Baluwatar decided to recommend the dissolution of Parliament to President Bidya Devi Bhandari, according to a Cabinet minister. 

President Bidya Devi Bhandari then approved the proposal during the day. With this, the Parliament of Nepal is officially dissolved.

The index opened at 2,046.57 today. The market-open itself is the intraday high and the index only lost after that. The market-close is also the intraday low itself.

14,509,533 shares traded hands via 79,967 transactions. Trading of 198 scrips brought the total market turnover to a little over Rs. 9.04 Arba.

The float index lost 5.86 points and closed at 132.06 while the Sensitive index is at 369.55 after losing 16.39 points.

Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited (NLIC) has the highest individual scrip turnover of a little over Rs. 1.06 Arba. The shares of Nepal Credit & Commerce Bank Limited (NCCB) traded the most today.

United Idi-Mardi and R.B. Hydropower Limited gained the most 9.8% today, technically hitting the 10% positive circuit. Today was the hydropower company's first day of trading.

Meanwhile, Suryodaya Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SLBS) lost the most 10%.

All the sectors have lost today.
