NEPSE loses 6.2 points; Market welcomes rookie Mountain Energy Nepal (MEN) on its first trading day with 10% positive circuit

The NEPSE index lost 6.2 points and closed at 2,055.22 today.

The index opened at 2,097.20 today, which is the highest point the index touched during the entire day. The intraday-low at 2,041.85 gives us the total volatility of 55.35 points.

10,558,391 shares traded hands via 49,159 transactions. Trading of 199 scrips brought the total market turnover to a little over Rs. 5.14 Arba.

The float index lost 0.18 points and closed at 139.34 while the Sensitive index is at 386.98 after losing 0.43 points.

Nepal Credit & Commerce Bank Limited (NCCB) has the highest individual scrip turnover of Rs. 39.43 crores. Its shares also traded the most today.

The top six companies in the top-gainers list hit the 10% positive circuit today. Interestingly, Mountain Energy Nepal Limited (MEN) hit a 10% positive circuit on its first trading day. MEN closed at Rs. 378. This is the list of the top gainers:

Meanwhile, Everest Insurance Company Limited Promoter Share (EICPO) lost the most 4.67%.

Four sectors lost while seven others closed green. The sector "Others" lost the most 1.51% while Microfinance gained the most 2.34%.
