NEPSE Loses 56.03 Points and Closes at 3,124.87; Hydropower Sector Takes Massive Hit

The NEPSE index closed at 3,124.87 today after losing 56.03 points from last week's closing.

The index opened at 3,186.47 and did not trade higher than that. While it went as low as 3,122.31, it ultimately closed at 3,124.87.

A total of 25,316,805 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 16.124 Arba in the turnover amount. This is lower than last week's turnover of Rs. 20.499 Arba. 225 scrips traded hands via 156,913 transactions.

Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited (AHPC) had the highest turnover of Rs. 75.43 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 670 per share. The shares of National Hydro Power Company Limited (NHPC) traded the most.

Gurkhas Finance Limited (GUFL) and Jeevan Bikas Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (JBLB) technically gained 10% today, which is the highest permissible intraday gain for a scrip. On the other side of things, fifteen companies have lost 10% today.

Only two sectors gained while all others closed red. Finance gained the most 1.47% and Hydropower lost the most 6.21%.
