NEPSE Loses 45.25 Points From All-Time High Created Yesterday; Hydropower Sector Falls Hard

The NEPSE index lost a significant 45.25 points today and closed at 2,782.68. The index opened at 2,842.28 and immediately made the intraday high at 2,849.26. However, this was the most that the bulls could push the index today. Bearish sentiment immediately dominated and took the index as low as 2,781.05. Nonetheless, it ultimately closed at 2,782.68.
30,888,695 shares traded hands via 1,48,715 transactions. The trading of 218 scrips brought the total market turnover to a little over Rs. 13.90 Arba. Nepal's capital market had created the highest intraday turnover recorded in the history of NEPSE of Rs. 17.028 Arba yesterday.
While the float index lost 2.9 points and closed at 192.11, the Sensitive index is at 500.47 after losing 6.58 points.
Radhi Bidyut Company Limited (RADHI) has the highest individual scrip turnover of a little over Rs. 91 crores. The company unveiled the proposal of 1: 1.4752 right shares today. This is also probably why it gained 10% today.
Radhi Bidyut Company Limited (RADHI) and Central Finance Limited (CFCL) have closed at the upper limit of 10% intraday gain today.
On the other side of things, Chhyangdi Hydropower Company Limited (CHL) lost the most 9.13%.
Only Mutual Funds gained a minimal 0.24% today. Among all other sectors that lost, the Hydropower sector, which had been gaining aggressively, has ironically lost the most 4.31%.
