First Day After Tihar, NEPSE Loses 19.20 Points With Sluggish Market Participation

The NEPSE index closed at 2,829.64 today after losing 19.20 points from the last trading day's closing. The index had gained a meager 5.22 points on the last trading day before Tihar.

The index opened at 2,854.37 and created the intraday high at 2,862.96. While it went as low as 2,821.73, it ultimately closed at 2,829.64.

A total of 7,207,396 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 4.42 Arba in the turnover amount. 230 scrips traded hands via 49,530 transactions.

Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank Limited (MLBL) had the highest turnover of Rs. 52.1 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 882 per share. Its shares also traded the most.

A total of 4 scrips have technically gained 10%, thereby hitting the positive circuit breaker. Meanwhile, Support Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SMB) lost the most 7.96%.

Three sectors gained while all others closed red today. "Finance" gained the most, and that too, a minuscule 0.78 %. "Development Bank" lost the most 1.24%.
