NEPSE Loses 17.15 Points and Closes at 2,650.97, NTC Slips Down 5.13% After First-Ever Bonus Dividend Proposal

The NEPSE index closed at 2,650.97 today after losing 17.15 points from last trading day's closing. The index had gained 0.15 points yesterday before closing prematurely due to issues in the brokers' data center.
The index opened at 2,673.55 today and made the intraday high at 2,675.83. While it went as low as 2,637.23, it ultimately closed at 2,650.97.
229 scrips traded hands via 46,287 transactions. Furthermore, a total of 6,529,026 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 3.364 Arba in the turnover amount.
Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) had the highest turnover of Rs. 34.23 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 1,626 per share. Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) is also the highest loser with a 5.13% loss. NTC unveiled its dividend proposal today: 20% cash dividend and 20% bonus shares, its first-ever bonus dividend.
The shares of Api Power Company Ltd. (API) were traded the most. Meanwhile, Emerging Nepal Limited (ENL) gained the highest 9.98% and closed at 429.70. This is the IPO rookie's seventh day of trading.
Four sector indices gained while all others closed red. "Hotels And Tourism Index" gained the highest 3.16%, which can largely be attributed to the 6.51% gain of Soaltee Hotel Limited (SHL). On the other side of things, "Manufacturing And Processing" lost the highest 1.62%.
