NEPSE Loses 1.62% and Closes at 2,610.58, Hydropower Index Down 102.56 Points

The NEPSE index closed at 2,610.58 today after losing 43.12 points from yesterday's closing. The index had lost 7.73 points yesterday.

The index opened at 2,662.26 today and made the intraday high at 2,683.46. While it went as low as 2,606.97, it ultimately closed at 2,610.58.

227 scrips traded hands via 54,121 transactions. Furthermore, a total of 7,834,915 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 3.66 Arba in the turnover amount. This is higher than yesterday's turnover of Rs. 3.273 Arba.

Api Power Company Ltd. (API) had the highest turnover of Rs. 16.09 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 498.90 per share. The shares of National Hydro Power Company Limited (NHPC) traded the most.

11% NIC Asia Debenture 082/83 (NICAD8283) gained the highest 2% and closed at Rs. 1,020. Meanwhile, Terhathum Power Company Limited (TPC) and Samling Power Company Limited (SPC) has lost the highest 10%, both hitting the negative circuit breaker.

All sector indices closed red. Hydropower lost the highest 3.09%.
