NEPSE Loses 13.56 Points from All-Time High; Rookie Stock CHDC Hits Positive Circuit on First Trading Day

The NEPSE index lost 13.56 points from the all-time high created yesterday and closed at 2,946.58. The index opened at 3,003.39, which is the first time the NEPSE index surpassed the 3,000 index level in the history of the capital market.
While the index went as high as 3,005, it could not survive in the new altitude for long. The NEPSE index immediately retreated and went as low as 2,934.98. Nonetheless, it ultimately closed at 2,946.58.
31,354,022 shares traded hands via 155,239 transactions. The trading of 221 scrips brought the total market turnover to a little over Rs. 16.997 Arba. This is higher than yesterday's turnover of Rs. 16.95 Arba.
While the float index lost 1.03 points and closed at 204.19, the Sensitive index is at 525.28 after losing 2.83 points.
Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited (AHPC) has the highest individual scrip turnover of a little over Rs. 87.94 crores.
A total of six companies have technically closed at the upper limit of 10% intraday gain today, including the rookie stock CEDB Hydropower Development Company Limited (CHDC) whose IPO shares traded for the first time today.
On the other side of things, United Idi-Mardi and R.B. Hydropower Limited (UMRH) lost the most 9.88% and hit the negative circuit breaker.
Seven sectors lost today and six others closed green. Development Bank lost the most 4.41% while Manu.& Pro. gained the most 3.98%.
