NEPSE Loses 11.68 Points and Closes at 2,771.15; Daily Turnover Contracts to Rs. 8.59 Arba

The NEPSE index lost 11.68 points today and closed at 2,771.15. The index opened at 2,790.33 and immediately made the intraday high at 2,799.94. However, this was the most that the bulls could push the index today. Bearish sentiment immediately dominated and took the index as low as 2,751.26. Nonetheless, it ultimately closed at 2,771.15.

19,783,354 shares traded hands via 98,607 transactions. The trading of 216 scrips brought the total market turnover to a little over Rs. 8.59 Arba. This is a significant contraction in turnover given that Nepal's capital market had created the highest intraday turnover recorded in the history of NEPSE of Rs. 17.028 Arba the day before yesterday.

While the float index lost 0.9 points and closed at 191.21, the Sensitive index is at 496.86 after losing 3.69 points.

Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited (NRIC) has the highest individual scrip turnover of a little over Rs. 57.38 crores.

Kalika Power Company Limited (KPCL) is the only company to have closed at the upper limit of 10% intraday gain today.

On the other side of things, Dibyashwari Hydropower Company Limited (DHPL) lost the most 5.02%.

Only three sectors gained today, among which the sector "Others" has gained the most 0.7%. Among all other sectors that lost, Hotels and Tourism lost the most 2.59%.
