NEPSE Loses 10.83 Points and Closes at 2,920.51, Bears Slam Finance Sector

The NEPSE index closed at 2,920.51 today after losing 10.83 points from last week's closing. This is a loss of 0.37% on the index. The index had gained 33.03 points last Thursday.

The index opened at 2,942.97 and made the intraday high at 2,960.39. While it went as low as 2,906.28, it ultimately closed at 2,920.51.

230 scrips traded hands via 81,864 transactions. Furthermore, a total of 13,906,879 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 6.604 Arba in the turnover amount. This is higher than last week's turnover of Rs. 5.773 Arba.

Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) had the highest turnover of Rs. 32.14 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 1,513 per share. The units of Nabil Balanced Fund - 2 (NBF2) traded the most.

Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (WNLB) gained the highest 10% and hit the positive circuit breaker. Meanwhile, Samling Power Company Limited (SPC) lost the highest 6.69%, hence closing at Rs. 683.

Among the 13 sector indices, five indices gained while all others closed red. "Others" gained the highest 1.68% and "Finance" lost the highest 2.77%.
