NEPSE Loses 108.26 Points and Closes at 2,818.72; Sixteen Scrips Hit 10% Negative Circuit Breaker

The NEPSE index closed at 2,818.72 today after losing 108.26 points from last week's closing. The index had lost 50.13 points on the last trading day of last week too.

The index opened at 2,928.80 and immediately went on a downward spiral. While it went as low as 2,779.33, it ultimately closed at 2,818.72. All trading in NEPSE was halted for 40 minutes after the index lost 5% in the first 2 hours of today's trading session.

A total of 23,079,832 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 11.24 Arba in the turnover amount. This is higher than last Thursday's turnover of Rs. 9.505 Arba. 223 scrips traded hands via 129,142 transactions.

Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited (AHPC) had the highest turnover of Rs. 70.33 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 641.5 per share. The units of Sanima Equity Fund (SAEF) were traded the most.

Sanima Life Insurance Company Limited (SLI) gained the most 9.97% today while a total of 16 scrips hit the 10% negative circuit breaker.

All sectors have closed red today. Finance lost the most 8.01%, followed by Hydropower that lost 6.51%.
