NEPSE LEAPS TOWARD 900 LEVEL; TURNOVER OVER RS 500 MILLION

Nepal’s stock market continued to rise for third day on the back of pro-market budget anticipation. The Nepse climbed up by 9.81 point to settle at 895.02 level.
Lately, the market sentiment has been widely driven by the expectation of capital market tax reform, new banking and financial institutions provision and opening investment gateway for Non-Resident Nepalis from the upcoming budget.
In addition, last two days’ rally in the market attracted more investors and traders toward listed shares.
Today, all listed scrips besides Trading and Finance sectors’ scrips, fared well. In process, Trading and Finance sub-indices suffered loss of 1.52 points and 0.63 point respectively.
While, Hydro, Hotels and Banking sun-indices led the way, with gain of 43.59 points, 32.8 points and 11.74 points respectively.
Similarly, Development, Insurance and Others followed with 3.32 points, 8.57 points and 5.87 points increment respectively.
All in all, the scrips of 141 companies were traded, out of which 82 scrips gained, 16 remained intact and 43 scrips lost.
The best performer for the day was, Neco Insurance Co. (NIL), closed at Rs 331, with Rs 30 or 9.97 percent gain. Whereas, Araniko Development Bank Limited (ARDBL), closed at Rs 147, was the worst performer among ordinary shares with Rs 9 or 5.77 percent loss.
In terms of turnover, Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL), closed at Rs 2400, had the highest turnover today. Altogether, 17,387 share units of CHCL were traded through 154 transactions worth Rs 41,325,758.
The broker with the highest standalone dealing of the CHCL was Broker No 42 (Sani Securities Co. Ltd.) with 10.27 percent totaling 3,599 shares trade amounting Rs 8,492,160 via 6 transactions, which includes one matching transaction of 1,716 share units worth Rs 4,049,760.
The market turnover today stood at Rs 566,542,867, with total number of shares traded at 2,171,778 units which were traded through 3,869 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 912,982.39 Millions.
