NEPSE lands on green: Meager surge in turnover

The benchmark index of Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) managed to close in green, with minimal surge of 0.32 points or 0.04 percent to settle at 848.73 level, compared to yesterday’s 848.41 mark index.

The movement of the local bourse was within the tunnel of 2 points throughout the day, recording the intraday high and low of 848.88 and 846.77 levels respectively.

However the total turnover has surged by almost Rs 10 million, attributed by the manual turnover of Rs 7.87 million, compared to yesterday’s total of Rs 158.31 million.
Altogether 400,299 unit shares of 125 scrips were traded via 1,659 transactions worth Rs 167.87 million.


Among the sub-indices, Banking gained 1.6 points or 0.22 percent to close at 738.87 level. Similarly Manufacturing and Others went up by 5.59 points and 2.35 points respectively. HydroPower surged by double digit of 10.17 points.

On the contrary, Insurance and Hotels plunged by double digit of 21.91 points and 13.27 points respectively. Finance dropped by 1.6 points.


The share price of Mega Bank increased by Rs 20 or 5.80 percent today, followed by the announcement of 12 percent bonus share by the bank.
Siddharth Finance, Kabeli Bikas Bank, Himalayan Distillery and NIDC Capital Market were few top gainers of the day.

Whereas Development Banks like Mission Development, Mount Makalu Development, Nepal Community Development, Swarojgar Laghu Bitta and Reliable Development Bank had maximum plunge of the day in their respective share price.
