NEPSE lands in green; Turnover down by Rs 188 million

NEPSE managed to remain above 900 mark recording surge of meager 1.35 points or 0.15 percent to close at 903.68 level compared to yesterday’s closing of 902.33 mark index.
The local bourse opened at 902.32 level this afternoon and moved up to 908.04 level within couple of hours and then rolled down to 903.68 level at closing.
However decrease in participation of the investors was seen in the market which is clearly indicated by low turnover.
The total turnover has plunged by more than Rs 188 million compared to yesterday’s total of Rs 365.01 million. Altogether 541,502 unit shares of 131 companies were traded today through 1,999 transaction worth only Rs 177.09 million.

Among the sub-indices, Banking gained 4.6 points or 0.58 percent amid the surge in share price of Nabil Bank by Rs 55.
Development, Finance and Insurance moved up by 3.17 points, 0.39 point and 9.92 points respectively. Trading surged 2.36 point or 1.3 percent.
On the contrary, Hotels, HydroPower and Others slipped down by 3.87 points, 7.6 points and 14.09 points respectively.
Companies like Sahara Bikash, NMB Sulav, Nagbeli Laghubitta, Kalika Microcredit and Bhargav Bikas Bank stood among the top gainers of the day.
Whereas, Sewa Bikas, Seti Finance, Paschimanchal Bikash, NIC Asia and Matribhumi Development Bank were among the top losers of the day.
