The NEPSE index closed at 1,942.63 today after gaining 51.31 points from the last trading day's closing. This is a gain of 2.71%. The index gained 8.10 points yesterday.

Today the index opened at 1,891.37 which is also the intraday low. In contrast, it went as high as 1,942.64 and ultimately closed at 1,942.63.

271 scrips traded hands via 38,796 transactions. A total of 6,067,432 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 2.2 Arba in turnover amount. This is higher than the last trading day's turnover of Rs. 1.278 Arba. This is the highest turnover in 3 months (26th Feb 2023), when the turnover amount stood at Rs 2.52 Arba.

The NEPSE Index gains significantly as a result of falling interest rates and a reduction in the CD ratio to 84.74, the lowest level of the year. This will further strengthen the trust of investors in the stock market, currently experiencing a bearish run, which leads to the potential onset of entry of new investors and additional brokers to facilitate investor growth. Therefore, given the context, the provision of license approval for seven new brokerage houses just yesterday can be analyzed in the best interest of the market.

Shivam Cements Limited (SHIVM) had the highest turnover of Rs. 10.05 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 436.50 per share. The shares of HIDCLP traded the most.

Four scrips hit the positive circuit for the day.

Conversely, Sunrise First Mutual Fund (SFMF) lost the highest 2.00% today.

All sector indices closed green, "Manufacturing And Processing" gained the highest 4.05% while "Mutual Fund" gained the least 0.55% today.
