NEPSE Index Plunged By 13.17 Points Despite the Upgrade in Stock Trading Limit to 15%

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) recorded a double digit loss today, declining by 13.17 points (0.46%) to settle at 2,825.23. This comes after a gain of 5.36 points in the previous trading session on April 17.

The benchmark index opened at 2,832.1 and reached an intraday high of 2,846.39, while the day’s low stood at 2,813.24. Total turnover for the day amounted to Rs. 5.43 Arba, with 11,653,370 shares traded across 349 companies through 116,310 transactions. The total market capitalization stood at Rs. 48.18 Kharba, with a float market capitalization of Rs. 16 Kharba.

Hotel Forest Inn Limited (HFIN) topped the turnover chart, recording transactions worth Rs. 36.01 crores. The company’s stock closed at Rs. 1,261.40.

In today’s trading session, four companies hit the positive circuit limit of 15%, including SKHEL, HFIN, PCIL, and SIPD.

Meanwhile, Dolti Power Company Limited (DOLTI) recorded the Highest fall, falling by 5.35%, the last traded price of the company was Rs. 425.00

Out of 13 indices, five indices closed in green. Among sectors, the Hotels And Tourism Index registered the highest gain, gaining 1.01%, while Banking SubIndex, Investment Index and Manufacturing And Processing recorded highest fall, falling by 0.51%.
