NEPSE Index Loses 30.75 Points For The Day, Intraday Turnover Rises to Rs. 4.621 Arba

The NEPSE index closed at 2,649.20 today after losing 30.75 points from yesterday's closing. This is a loss of 1.15% on the index. The index had gained 63.01 points yesterday.

236 scrips traded hands via 58,572 transactions. The Float index is at 182.38 after losing 1.28% while the Sensitive index lost 1.33% and is now at 497.03.

Shivam Cements Limited (SHIVM) had the highest turnover of Rs. 18.72 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 1,523 per share. The shares of Hydroelectricity Investment and Development Company Limited (HIDCL) traded the most.

Madhya Bhotekoshi Jalavidyut Company Limited (MBJC) gained 9.96%, (technically 10%, hence hitting the positive circuit breaker). Meanwhile, Vijaya Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (VLBS) lost the highest 4.55%, hence closing at Rs. 1,322.

"Hydropower" and "Finance" are the only two sectors that gained today. The former gained the highest 0.49%. Among all other sectors that closed red, "Hotels And Tourism" has lost the highest 2.21%.

Technical Analysis Highlight

The index opened at 2,687.75 and created the intraday low at 2,699.91. While it went as low as 2,641.61, it ultimately closed at 2,649.20.

Furthermore, a total of 9,559,429 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 4.621 Arba in the turnover amount. This is higher than yesterday's turnover of Rs. 4.320 Arba.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is at 58.10. The reading was at 61.26 yesterday. Meanwhile, the MACD line has crossed higher from the zero line, with the MACD reading at 7.67. This is an optimistic indication. The MACD reading was at -0.21 yesterday. The MACD line had already crossed over the signal line a few weeks ago, indicating a mild bullish sentiment.
