NEPSE index hits 1,100 mark with a turnover of Rs 23.5 crore; Index fell by 4.95 points

The NEPSE index has dived today by 0.45% or 4.95 points closing at 1,100.58 points. The total turnover for today stood at Rs 23.5 crore with 8.73 lakh shares traded via 4,804 transactions.

The market today had opened at 1,105.33 points, which saw minor fluctuations throughout the day and finally closed in red.

Nepal Life Insurance (NLIC) had the highest turnover of Rs 2.6 crore today, which indicates the impact of dividend endorsement by the Board meeting. Similarly, Janata Bank Nepal Promoter Share (JBNLPO) had the highest number of shares traded i.e. 63 thousand shares.

The top gainer for today is Bhargav Bikas Bank (BHBL) climbing by 5.84% closing at Rs 145. While, the top loser is Sindhu Bikas Bank (SINDU) declining by 8.69% closing at Rs 126.

The sub-indices for all sectors except Hotels and Life Insurance fell and closed in red. Life insurance sector gained the most gaining 53.08 points, whereas non life insurance sector lost the most declining by 27.72 points.
