NEPSE index gains 5.74 points and closes at 1,561.27; Hydro companies witness voracious buyer optimism

The NEPSE index gained 5.74 points (0.37%) today and ultimately closed at 1,561.27.

The day's open is the intraday high itself. On the other hand, 1,554.38 is the lowest point for the day.

8,971,303 shares traded hands via 45,834 transactions to produce a total turnover of Rs. 2.23 Arba. 193 scrips were traded.

The float index gained 0.39 points and closed at 108.21 while the Sensitive index is at 309.41 after gaining 1.07 points.

Arun Kabeli Power Limited (AKPL)'s shares produced the highest individual scrip turnover of Rs. 14.78 crores. Its shares also traded the most.

A total of eight companies hit a 10% positive circuit, technically. They are Api Power Company Limited (API), Nepal Hydro Developer Limited (NHDL), Mountain Hydro Nepal Limited (MHNL), Synergy Power Development Limited (SPDL), Dibyashwari Hydropower Company Limited (DHPL), Barun Hydropower Company Limited (BARUN), Khani Khola Hydropower Company Limited (KKHC), and Chhyangdi Hydropower Company Limited (CHL).

Interestingly, all eight of them are hydropower companies.

Meanwhile, Samriddhi Finance Company Limited (SFCL) lost the most 2.42%. If we look at the top losers today, we can see that even the top losers did not lose a significant amount.

Six sectors lost today and six others gained. Trading gained the most 6.18% while Non-life insurance lost the most 0.67%.
