NEPSE Index Ends in Red with 0.60% Loss; Seven New Brokers Commence Operations From Today

Today, the NEPSE index closed at 2,084.93, experiencing a loss of 12.62 points from the previous trading day's closing. This represents a loss of 0.60%. Yesterday, the index had gained 25.31 points.

The market opened at 2,095.72 and reached an intraday high of 2,121.83. However, it also went as low as 2,080.42 before ultimately closing at 2,084.93.

Alongside these market movements, today marks the beginning of operations for the seven new brokers who have received final approval for their NEPSE membership. These brokers, with broker numbers ranging from 61 to 67, are Bhole Ganesh Securities Limited (61), Capital Max Securities Limited (62), Himalayan Brokerage Company Limited (63), Sun Securities Private Limited (64), Sharepro Securities Private Limited (65), Miyo Securities Private Limited (66), and Property Wizard Limited (67). Their approval and commencement of operations offer investors a wider range of options and contribute to the growth and vibrancy of the NEPSE.

In today's trading, there were a total of 296 scrips traded through 57,645 transactions. The shares exchanged amounted to 9,382,440, with a turnover of Rs. 3.39 Arba, which is higher than the turnover of Rs. 3.18 Arba on the previous trading day.

SHIVAM CEMENTS LTD (SHIVM) had the highest turnover of Rs. 23.75 crores, closing at a market price of Rs. 652.20 per share. The shares of SHL were the most actively traded.

Two debentures experienced the highest gain of 9.99% each, hitting the positive circuit for the day.

On the other hand, Peoples Hydropower Company Limited (PHCL) suffered the highest loss of 6.05% today.

Among the sector indices, only three closed in the green, with "Mutual Fund" gaining the highest at 0.55%, while the "Finance" sector experienced the highest loss at 2%.
