NEPSE Index Couldn't Sustain Yesterday's Gain; Plunge 21.35 Points Today While Turnover Surged to Rs. 7.65 Arba

The NEPSE index closed at 2,190.42 today after losing 21.35 points from the last trading day's closing. This is a loss of 0.97%. The index gained 46.76 points yesterday.

Today the index opened at 2,215.35 and made an intraday high of 2,277.61. While it went as low as 2,178.19, it ultimately closed at 2,190.42.

254 scrips traded hands via 109,967 transactions. A total of 20,843,952 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 7.658 Arba in turnover amount. This is higher than yesterday's turnover of Rs. 5.314 Arba. This is the highest turnover since 3rd Feb 2022, the turnover amount stood at Rs 8.612 Arba that day.

Ngadi Group Power Ltd. (NGPL) had the highest turnover of Rs. 21.21 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 316 per share. The shares of HIDCLP traded the most.

Barahi Hydropower Public Limited (BHPL) gained the highest 9.99% and technically hit a positive circuit for the day.

On the other side of things, Taragaon Regency Hotel Limited (TRH) lost the highest 8.74% today.

Only two sectors closed green, "Finance" lost the highest 4.31% while "Banking" gained the highest 0.60% today.
