NEPSE Index Closes With a Loss of 4.98 Points To Settle at 2,561.08 ; Eight Scrips Hit Positive Circuit

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) recorded a loss today, losing 4.98 points (0.19% ) to settle at 2,561.08. This follows a 15.70 point gain in the previous session.

The benchmark index opened at 2570.92., touching an intraday high of 2,580.09, while the lowest point was 2,550.62. Total turnover for the day reached Rs. 3.77 Arba, with 8,388,373 shares traded across 345 companies through 50,626 transactions. Market capitalization stood at Rs. 43.00 Kharba, with a float market capitalization of Rs. 14.53 Kharba.


Barun Hydropower Co. Ltd. (BARUN) topped the turnover chart, amounting to Rs. 27.4 crores. The stock closed at Rs.344.90.

Eight scrips hit the upper circuit, gaining a maximum of 10% each.


Meanwhile,Corporate Development Bank Limited (CORBL) recorded the steepest drop, falling 6.03%.

 

Among sectors, Hotels And Tourism Index registered the highest gain, gaining 1.16%, while the Development Bank Index saw the highest loss at 1.09%.
