NEPSE index closes in green gaining 4.70 points; 9.6 shares traded accounting for a turnover of Rs 30.4 crore

The NEPSE index has closed in green today by gaining 4.70 points or 0.4%, landing at 1,188.71 points. The total turnover stands at Rs 30.4 crore, while the total number of transactions stands at 5,405 with above 9.6 lakh shares traded throughout the day.

The market today had opened at 1,184.21 points, which fell down to 1,181.9 in the middle of the day. However, later the market picked up momentum again and closed in green.

Neco Insurance (NIL) has the highest turnover for today standing at Rs 2.75 crore. Similarly, Kumari Bank Limited (KBL) has the highest number of shares traded, which stands at 75,217 shares.

The top gainer for today is Everest Insurance Company (EIC), gaining 7.56% and closing at Rs 1,025. This rise might have been pushed by the right shares announcement. Similarly, Nepal Community Development Bank (NCDB) is the top loser for today, losing 6.89% closing at Rs 135.

The sub-indices for banking, hotels, development bank, non-life insurance, manufacturing & processing and microfinance landed in green today. Whereas the subindices for hydropower, finance, others and life insurance sector landed in red today.
