NEPSE INCLINES BY 1.79 POINTS

Finally, after witnessing decrease in the selling pressure, the market prevails to settle in green terrain. Coming to the end of the day, the stock index gained 1.79 points to close at 785.70 levels.

The market, which has been observing profit taking since past three days, today experienced a different scenario as there were less number of sellers compared to prior trading days.

As most of the listed shares, especially of banking, insurance and others sectors, have witnessed a series of downfall in recent days, it have made the sellers reluctant to sell at this minimum level.

Similarly, observing the recent correction and late surge of yesterday, more investors are now eyeing to accumulate the shares at current levels in expectation of Bull Run because of recent political development.

Fuelled by such expectation, most of the sub-indices landed on the north zone today.   

Hydro continued with its double digit growth today also as it added 19.28 points to its tally. Likewise, Insurance and Hydro surged by 9.2 and 2.35 points respectively.

Among three Banking and Financial Institutions sub-indices, Development and Finance propelled by 5.54 and 2.09 points respectively. While, Banking decrease by meager 0.1 point despite the healthy demand in most of the banking scrips.

 The decrease in the price of NABIL Bank Limited Promotor Share (NABILP), Kumari Bank Ltd (KBL), Bank of Kathmandu (BOK) and Nabil Bank Ltd. (NABIL) mainly caused the latter downfall in Banking sub-indices.

As for Hotels sub-indices, it suffered a loss of 10.64 points.

Altogether there were trade of 125 scrips, among which 71 scrips gained, 11 scrips remained intact and 42 scrips suffered loss.

The best performer among the traded scrips was Sewa Bikas Bank Limited (SEWA), closed at Rs 242, with a gain of Rs 22 or 10 percent. Whereas, Tourism Development Bank Ltd. (TDBL), closed at Rs 142, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 9 or 5.96 percent.

The scrip with the highest turnover in today’s market was Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited (AHPC), closed at Rs 615, with trade worth Rs 27,211,531 totaling 45,203 units which were traded through 66 transactions.

The Broker with the highest transaction of AHPC was Broker No 45 (Imperial Securities Co.Pvt. Limited) with 78.66 percent standalone dealing, totaling 71,219 units worth Rs 42,807,836 via 74 transactions, which include 36 matching transactions worth Rs 21,157,000 totaling 35,200 units.

The market turnover today stood at Rs 332,842,918 with total number of shares traded at 726,479 units which were traded through 2,808 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 799,235.70 Millions.
