NEPSE INCLINES AS DEMAND IMPROVES IN BANKING AND INSURANCE SCRIPS

Backed by the increase in the demand of banking and insurance scrips, the market today witnessed an incline of 1.9 points to close at 782.37 levels.
Following the recent series of downfall in the banking scrips, most of the investors today opted to accumulate the banking shares. Attributed by such scenario, the banking sub-index today ended its six trading days losing streak and also created a positive impact in the market. The sub-index today added 1.38 points.
In addition, improvement in the demand of insurance shares played further constructive role in today’s market performance. The insurance sector today propelled by 13 points.
Alongside above sub-indices, the advancement in Development, Finance and Hydro sectors contributed further to today’s progress.
Development and Finance today added 0.51 and 1.92 points respectively. Similarly, Hydro surged by 26.32 points. As for Others, it remained intact at 793.02 levels while Hotels dropped by 21.96 points.
Altogether there were trade of 118 scrips, among which 75 scrips gained, 9 scrips remained intact and 34 scrips suffered loss.
The best performers among the traded scrips was Sanima Mai Hydropower Ltd. (SHPC), closed at Rs 441, with a gain of Rs 40 or 9.98 percent. Whereas, Vibor Bikas Bank Limited (VBBL), closed at Rs 112, was the worst performer with a loss of Rs 10 or 8.20 percent.
The scrip with the highest turnover in today’s market was Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited. (AHPC), closed at Rs 650, with Rs 35,576,574, totaling 54,687 units which were traded through 138 transactions.
Following the news of the approval of the company’s 1:1 right share by SEBON, the company’s shares today witnessed a hefty demand.
The Broker with the highest transaction of AHPC was Broker No 55 (Bhrikuti Stock Broking Co. Pvt. Ltd.) with 10.30 percent standalone dealing, totaling 11,245 units worth Rs 7,331,110 via 32 transactions.
The market turnover today stood at Rs 257,099,481 with total number of shares traded at 813,948 units which were traded through 2,377 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 795,901.77 Millions.
