NEPSE INCH TOWARDS 500 LEVEL

The secondary market of Nepal yet again continued its bullish movement to inch towards the level of 500. The market index that was dangling near the yesterday’s level for the first half of the session, made a steady incline to 498 level following the jump in the level of Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited. Then, the local bourse made gradually progress to the close at day’s highest level of 499.99. In overall, the benchmark index added 5.5 points to its prior day’s level.
The incline in NTC by Rs 10 uplifted the Others sector by hefty 11.75 points today.Similarly, Insurance following the huge gain in most of the insurance companies’ share, made a surge by immense 23.29 points. Likewise, Hydro made increment of 4.18 points whereas Manufacturing declined by 3.37 points. As for Banking and Financial Institutions sub-indices, Banking rallied by 5.28 points, Development surged by 1 point and Finance soared 0.49 points.
In Banking, the trade of Commerz and Trust Bank Nepal Ltd. straded from today with symbol CTBNL; the scrip closed at Rs 149. The act of investors to liquidate their holding of this company so as to clear their debt obligation and to make quick return resulted in making the scrip with highest transaction and turnover in the market today with 52,684 units worth Rs 7,789,868 via 271 transactions; in terms of highest shares traded among ordinary scrips also CTBNL topped the chart.
The Broker with the highest dealing of CTBNL was Broker no 45 (Imperial Securities Co .Pvt.Limited) with 20.31% stand-alone dealing, tallying 21,300 units worth Rs 3,165,420 via 47 transactions which includes two matching transactions totaling 300 units worth Rs 44,400.
Overall, there were only 75 scrip traded among which 46 scrip increased 12 remained intact and 18 scrip decreased. The highest gainer for the day was, Arun Finance Limited (ARUN), closed at Rs 37, with Rs 3 or 10% gain. Whereas, Country Development Bank Ltd. (CNDBL), closed at Rs 60, was the highest loser with Rs 6 or 9.09% loss. Among the scrip trading above the par, , National LifeInsu. Co.Ltd. (NLICL), closed at Rs 555, was the top gainer with Rs 50 or 9.90% gain whereas Nepal Credit And Com. Bank (NCCB), closed at Rs 211, was the top loser with Rs 7 or 3.21% loss.
Altogether there were trade of 349,514 units of share via 1,016 transactions worth Rs 67,291,661; the market capitalization at the day stood at Rs 491,413.30 Millions.
