NEPSE In Panic Mode: Plunged 2.39% to Close At 1848.28 Levels; No Respite To Investors

The NEPSE index closed at 1,848.28 today after losing 45.25 points from last trading day's closing. This is a loss of 2.39%. The index had lost 31.21 points yesterday.

The index opened at 1889.40 which is also the intraday high. It then made an intraday low at 1,835.88 and ultimately closed at 1,848.28. Market had fallen upto 3% at a time during trading hours. 

237 scrips traded hands via 33,460 transactions. Furthermore, a total of 5,008,771 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 1.499 Arba in the turnover amount. This is higher than yesterday’s turnover of Rs. 84.37 Crores. Total market capitalisation stands Rs 26.35 Kharba of all the listed companies in NEPSE. 

Despite several protests from the different investor associations, the government has not done anything to uplift investors’ confidence in the market. In the last 10 months alone market has fallen down 43% from its all-time high. In the context of market capitalisation, the investors have lost Rs 18.11 kharba in this period. 

Kumari Bank Limited (KBL) shares traded the most had the highest turnover of Rs. 9.53 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 194.

Adhikhola Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (AKBSL) gained the highest 10% and hit a positive circuit for the day.

On the other side of things, Shiva Shree Hydropower Ltd (SSHL) lost 9.56% today.

All sector indices closed green, and “HydroPower" lost the highest 4.11% while "Banking" lost the least 1.59%.
