NEPSE goes green gaining 36.01 points; Speculation about the upcoming monetary policy causes market to move swiftly upwards

NEPSE has shown huge growth in the last day of the trading for the week. The stock market registered increment of double digit to close at 1,224.41 points. The market which had started at 1,188.4 points gained 36.01 points during the end of the trading period. The main reason for the sudden jump of the market has been speculated to be the confidence among the investors due to the rumors of increasing the ceiling of margin loan supposed to be addressed by the upcoming monetary policy.

During the day, turnover worth Rs 46.20 crore was recorded during the day which was generated from the transaction of more than 12 lakh unit shares. The shares of 168 listed companies were traded through 6,624 transactions.
National Life Insurance Company Limited (NLICL) stood ahead in terms of total turnover as the transaction of NLICL worth more than Rs 3.75 crore was made during the day. Similarly, Prime Commercial Bank Limited (PCBL) stood ahead in terms of units of shares traded as 78,120 units of PCBL were traded during the trading period.


The shareholders of United Insurance Company (Nepal) Limited (UIC) gained the most from today’s trade as the stock’s price increased by 86 points. Its LTP stood at Rs 946. However, the shareholders of Rairang Hydropower Development Company were the top loser for the day as well losing 12 points on the stock price. Its LTP stood at Rs 153.


Both the sensitive and float index increased by 7.51 points and 2.77 points respectively.
Out of the sub-indices, only the Manufacturing & Production sector ended in the red zone losing 37.34 points. Insurance sector gained 322.43 points which was followed by Microfinance sector gaining 85.9 points.
