NEPSE GOES FURTHER DOWN

Nepal Stock Exchange today plunges further down by 7.22 points to close at 520.91 points. With the news of CPN-Maoist warning to take arms, if the state power cannot assure the rights of the people, has led to create more political dismal situation in the country; the announcement has prompted the investors to take a step back to invest in the secondary market resulting in the bearish market movement today.

There were altogether trades of seven sectors; in which Hotels sector made a hefty surge today as it climbed by 44.27 points. The jump in the price of Soaltee Hotel Ltd. (SHL) by Rs 27 mainly helped the sector to extend further in green pasture. The increment in the scrip of SHL by 9.96% was the highest among the ordinary shares traded in the market today.

Whereas Banking sector came down by most points as it falls by 11.03 points. Altogether there 29 scrips traded under it in which 27 scrips declined; the scrips of NABIL Bank Limited Promotor Share (NABILP), Nepal Investment Bank Ltd. (NIB), Standard Chartered Bank Ltd. (SCB) and Nabil Bank Ltd. (NABIL) came down by more than Rs 30 today.

Likewise, Development and Finance plummeted by 0.98 and 1.15 points respectively. Similarly, Hydro decreased by 3.86 points as the decline in Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited (AHPC) and Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL) by Rs 2 and Rs 8 mainly contributed to its downfall. While, Insurance and Others reduced by 5.58 and 5.88 points respectively.

Overall there were only 85 scrips traded among which 18 scrips increased, 15 remain intact and 52 scrips decreased. The highest gainer for the day was, Machhachapuchhre Bank Limited Promotor Share (MBLPO), closed at Rs 98, with Rs 28 or 40% gain; the scrip also had the highest turnover and share traded with 133,812 units worth Rs 13,113,576 via 3 transactions. Whereas, Infrastructure Development Bank Limited (IDBL), closed at Rs 74, was the highest loser with Rs 7 or 8.64%. Among the shares trading over par value, Agricultural Development Bank Limited (ADBL), closed at Rs 254, had the highest loss of Rs 16 or 5.93%.

In terms of highest share traded among the ordinary shares, Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd. (NBB), closed at Rs 244, topped with 14,375 units. In terms of highest turnover, Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL), closed at Rs 1108, topped with 5,522 units worth Rs 6,126,568 via 52 transactions; in which Broker no 6 (Agrawal Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active Broker with 44.42% stand alone dealing of CHCL, tallying, 2,456 units worth Rs 2,721,514 via 15 transactions which includes one matching transaction of  200 units worth Rs 220,400.

The turnover for the day stood at Rs 92,597,102 which is comparatively Rs 17,913,703 or 23.98% higher than the prior trading day. Overall, 404,110 units of share were traded via 1,221 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 501,832.65 Millions at the end of the day.
