NEPSE gains second-highest turnover today in all of its history; "BBC" and "STC" hit positive circuit

The NEPSE index closed today at 1,718.49, gaining 10.82 points from yesterday's close. The market opened at 1,713.71 in the morning. While the lowest point was 1,702.70, the highest point was 1722.33. Thus, the total volatility of 19.63 points was witnessed during trading hours today.

Just yesterday, NEPSE closed above 1,700 level after three years and seven months. The last time that the index closed above 1,700 was on 12th April 2017. The overall market was bearish since then.

13,889,189 shares exchanged hands via 55,891 transactions. The trading of 198 scrips brought the total market turnover to a little over Rs. 4.826 Arba. This is the second-highest intraday turnover in all of NEPSE's history. The all-time high was created just this year on March 01 with a turnover of a little over Rs. 4.84 Arba.

Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited (NRIC) has the highest individual scrip turnover of Rs. 28.55 crores. It closed at Rs. 983 today. Meanwhile, the shares of Global IME Samunnat Scheme 1 (GIMES1) traded the most. GIMES1 closed at Rs. 10.92 today.

Bishal Bazar Company Limited (BBC) and Salt Trading Corporation Limited (STC) hit a 10% positive circuit today.

On the other side of things, Ganapati Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (GMFBS) lost the most 5.23%.

Five sectors gained while seven others closed red. Hotels lost the most 0.96% and Trading gained the most 9.98%.
