NEPSE GAINS FURTHER 4.97 POINTS

Continuing its zigzag pattern, the market index today came to gain 4.97 points. The stock index today closed at 787.34 levels.

As the political scenario of the country is on a positive outlook, the investors are now on buying streak. Moreover, the recent cult of buying in market is fuelled by the optimism regarding formation of Congress government in upcoming days which is perceived to be good for the capital market.

In addition, with the end of the second quarter the financial report will be published soon, which may further fuel the market in future days. Likewise, the refund of the Nagbeli Laghubitta Bikas Bank will bring additional liquidity in the market which again is another positive aspect for the future date.

All in all, these positive aspects have driven the market in positive outlook.

Most of the investors today were found accumulating the scrips of Insurance, Hydro and Development sectors as these three sub-indices added 28.52, 51.38 and 7.05 points to its tally. Alongside the above mentioned sectors’ shares, banking shares also observed healthy demand as the Banking sub-indices recovered 1.58 points.

Similarly, Hotels shares also got good response today as the sub-indices surged by 14.79 points. Also, Others sub-indices also witnessed a growth of 3.52 points. As for the Finance sector, it increment by 3.22 points.

Altogether there were trade of 116 scrips, among which 70 scrips gained, 14 scrips remained intact and 32 scrips suffered loss.

The best performer among the traded scrips were Butwal Power Co. Ltd. (BPCL), closed at Rs 1320,  and Shikhar Insurance Co. Ltd. (SICL), closed at 979, with a gain of 10 percent i.e. Rs 120 and Rs 89 respectively. Whereas, Brght Development Bank Ltd. (BRTBL), closed at Rs 110, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 4 or 3.51 percent.

The scrips with the highest turnover in today’s trade was NABIL Bank Limited Promotor Share (NABILP), closed at Rs 1300, with trading of 59,300 units worth Rs 75,688,100 via only 24 transactions.

The total market turnover today tallied at Rs 445,004,419, totaling 814,066 units of share which were traded through 2,689 transactions.
